The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) announced today that Norfolk Southern Corporation (NS) Chief Executive Officer James A. Squires will be the keynote speaker for NRC FirstLook 2021, a series of four high-profile railway industry webcasts held throughout January 2021.
The NRC FirstLook 2021 as an alternative to its highly regarded annual conference held each January, which was cancelled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Squires will be the featured executive for the first webcast on January 6, 2021,a “fireside chat” hosted by NRC Chairman Jim Hansen, chief commercial officer with Herzog, and NRC Vice Chairman Steve Bolte, vice president of business development North America with Danella Rental Systems Inc. The fireside chat, always the highlight of the NRC’s annual conference, will feature a far-reaching discussion covering everything from NS engineering and procurement plans to industry trends and the 2021 outlook.
NRCFirstLook 2021 is comprised of four webinar tracks:
"The NRC is thrilled to have Mr. Squires kick off NRC FirstLook 2021,” says Hansen. “His participation is an indication of the high caliber of railway leaders enlisted to participate in all four of the January webcasts.”
“The NRC has been bringing industry contractors and suppliers and railway executives together at its annual conference for 42 years,” says NRC President Wieland, President of the NRC. “Our members count on the conference to help develop their plans for the new year. Through NRC FirstLook, our lineup of key railway leaders will provide the same type of valuable information and insights our members have relied on when attending our annual conference.”
The NRC is a U.S. trade association that advances the mutual interests of railway contractors and suppliers who construct, maintain and supply railroads and rail-transit lines. Founded in 1978, the NRC connects members with other railway industry professionals and government legislators and policy makers. Together we work to create a positive business climate and to make railway construction and maintenance safer and more efficient.
