Advocacy

From our headquarters in Washington, D.C., the NRC is on the front lines representing railway contractors and suppliers before Congress and with federal agencies:

  • Work with lawmakers and regulators to ensure railway contractors and suppliers are protected and deemed "critical infrastructure workers" in light of COVID-19.
  • Updates on pending and passed federal transportation infrastructure policies, including spending and regulatory issues.
  • Participation in lobbying events, such as Railroad Day on Capitol Hill, with access to legislators, policy makers and other railway decision makers to promote a strong industry.
  • Coordination with other rail-related associations and organizations to host member company grassroots events with elected officials that help to implicate the message, maximize the impact of advocacy initiatives, and build relationships for NRC member companies.

Safety

Because we believe all incidents are preventable, the NRC develops and supports resources that foster a safe railway construction work environment:

What our members say…

The NRC provides a host of opportunities for railroads, contractors and suppliers to come together. Of course, the Annual Conference is the highlight of the year, but I have found great value in the ongoing educational webinars too. They feature key industry faces and figures to answer questions, tackle tough topics and bring clarity to the many changes happening in Washington.
