Railroad Day on the Hill
The NRC works together with the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) and the Association of American Railroads (AAR) to schedule and coordinate Railroad Day on Capitol Hill, an annual lobbying event in Washington, D.C.
Railroad Day on Capitol Hill draws hundreds of stakeholders in the railway industry – including railroad, transit and commuter rail representatives as well as contractors, suppliers and rail customers – to meet with their congressional members. Their goal is to tell the successful story of railways in the United States – the positive impact on the local, regional, national and global economy – and to request a supportive legislative and regulatory approach.
We strongly encourage NRC members and others from their companies to participate in this important opportunity to exercise their First Amendment rights in support of our industry.

Railroad Day on the Hill is our opportunity to advocate for issues important to the industry. Personally, I look forward to this event each year because I truly believe it is essential for our perspective to be heard. I am continually amazed by the turnout, especially by our member companies. It is an honor to spend the day in Washington representing our industry, the railroads, Ames Construction and the NRC.
