The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) named industry veteran Jim Hansen as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors at the conclusion of the General Session of the 2020 NRC Conference in San Diego January 8.
Chief Commercial Officer for Herzog, Inc., Jim will serve a two-year term as Board Chairman of the association comprised of railway industry contractors and suppliers. The NRC first named Jim to its Board in 2007.
Also during the General Session at the conference, NRC President Ashley Wieland acknowledged the leadership and significant contributions of Mike Choat, vice president of business development for Railroad Controls Ltd. (a Wabtec company), the outgoing NRC Chairman. She thanked Stacy & Witbeck Business Development Manager Jody Sims, and an outgoing board member, for her years of service to the NRC.
Wieland congratulated Lisa Roberts, director of business development & marketing with Omaha Track, for her appointment to the NRC Board of Directors.
The NRC provides a host of opportunities for railroads, contractors and suppliers to come together. Of course, the Annual Conference is the highlight of the year, but I have found great value in the ongoing educational webinars too. They feature key industry faces and figures to answer questions, tackle tough topics and bring clarity to the many changes happening in Washington.
